Mrs Sue Mefford

Susan Allen Mefford, 73, of Hot Springs Village, AR passed on from this life Thursday, April 3, 2014. Sue was born in New Kensington, PA to Thomas and Ann (Giese) Allen. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, Mima, friend and servant. She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Paul Mefford, her four children Rob Mefford of Illinois; Tamara (David) Grisko of Texas, Steve (Marcie) Mefford of Illinois and Doug (Traci) Mefford of Georgia; her five siblings, Ted (Jill) Allen, Vic, Peg and Dave Allen and Liz (Jim) Fey. Sue has ten cherished grandchildren, a great grandchild, five nephews and one niece. She is predeceased by her parents and daughter-in-law, Leslie Mefford. She has lived in Missouri, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and arrived in the Village 10 years ago where she has served on many different HSV committees and in many capacities with The Hot Springs Village Players. Sue was a committed member of the twelve step community for twenty years. She never stopped learning in every phase of her life and always made time for her friends, family and all of her communities. Sue gave of her time and talent generously throughout from being a devoted wife and mother, to sharing all of her learnings and experiences with others, she truly enjoyed giving of herself. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were touched by her life.

A celebration of her life – funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village on Monday, April 7th at 11:00am with luncheon immediately following. The family will also receive visitors at 10:30am prior to the mass.
